It has been nearly two years since I made a bandcamp album. Am glad did this. As there was no telling when my other album idea Slop'n'LOL would get done, if it ever would get done. Felt funny hyping that up, yet it's still not here. At least I have this for now, and my body of work continues to grow, and I don't have to wonder why I saved the live streams on a public platform instead of deleting with glee. I also learned the secret to hyping new bandcamp albums is to already have the album done beforehand <---that really helps : )

This album documents the best parts of the Summer Friday Live Stream broadcasts recorded during my summer residency on my facebook fan page back in the summer of 2022. Back then, every Friday I got out of work early for summer hours and set up my live stream equipment in my bedroom, usually playing from 3pm to 3:20ish. I mean it was always kind of set up, I just got it ready. I was working from home at the time so it was convenient. I had fun with it and learned a lot about live streaming, OBS (all the malfunctions), green screens, fog machines, and lighting. There were 9 live streams in total and over 3 hours of footage to pull from. Here we have twenty minutes.

During recording and play backs I have a tendency to listen through the click-clack without noticing how annoying this must sound to someone that didn’t make these songs. Dream to Live was that a-ha moment for me LOL [LS-#7 August 19, 2022 (5:24). It almost made the album but the hi-tom wanted to make the song all about it. Every so often a key or button feels like it isn't getting enough attention so it tries hard to shine through somehow, or the keyboard gets clicky as I play. So now I make a point to listen to playbacks through a variety of speakers and also let the recordings sit for a while instead of being so hot-to-trot to publish bandcamp albums. These are certainly the most listenable songs with the least amount of clicky.

Definitely worth it. I tried to keep the sets fresh, varied, and brief. "No more hour live streams!", I told myself. Watching my videos I just wanted to get to the good parts too and I think that's what playing for 20 minutes online does. After all, the internet is short attention span central. At least it is for me, so maybe everyone else too? Probably...
